2. Type your business name, then click the Add your business to Google link.


3. Type your business name again and press the "Next" button.


4. Choose the category that suits your business, try to choose the most accurate category possible - you basically tell Google what your customers are looking for (pizzeria - cafe - newborn clinic).


Note: You can edit or add more later.


5. Choose the option to add a location.


6. Add your business address (enter all the data shown below, and try to be as accurate as possible).


7. Locate your business on the map. A map will appear to you according to the geographical location that you chose in the address, through which you can accurately locate your business on Google Maps, then press the "Next" button.


8. If you can provide your services by going to customer places (delivery services) … check the box “Yes, I can provide services outside my location”, or select No, I do not do that, and click Next to continue.


Note: If you choose Yes, a step will appear that enables you to add the geographical areas in which you provide your services, and you can modify that as you wish in the future.


9. Add the information you want your customers to see: (your business phone number, and your business website (if you have one).


10. A page will appear titled Completing and managing this data, click on the "Complete" button.


11. Then you will move to an important part which is the verification option, where Google wants to make sure that this business actually exists, and you are its owner,

 There are several ways to verify your business on Google, this can be done through:

  • Postcard
  • by phone
  • E-mail


But verification by phone or e-mail appears only for a certain category of business, and most often verification is done by sending a postcard to your business address.


So, you will see the available methods for your activity, choose the one that suits you, then you will receive your verification code and be able to appear and manage your data completely on your business account on Google.


You have two options either to verify by postcard (you can see it by email or by phone), or you want to defer checking your business now and tap “Try a different method”“Later” if you are not ready now.

It is the most common way for Google to actually verify your business. The process takes 14 days to send the postcard to the mail closest to you. 

Here are the steps:


  • If you are not already signed in to your Google My Business account, sign in now, and choose the business you want to check. (If you are already logged in, you will be in the verification step).
  • Make sure your business address is correct, and you can add the name of the place where the postcard will be sent.
  • Click on “Mail”, the postcard should reach you within 10: 14 days.


Note: Make sure not to edit your business name, address, or category before the mail arrives, or request another confirmation code, as this may delay the process.


  • Once you get your postcard, sign in to Google My Business. If you have more than one business, select the business you want to check, if you only have one, select Check Now.


  • In the Code field, enter the five-digit verification code on your postcard, then click “Send”.


If your postcard never shows up, or you lose it, you can request a new code by signing in to Google My Business and clicking the blue Request Another Code banner at the top of the screen.


Phone verification steps

Google allows some companies to verify their work over the phone. If you qualify, you will see the “Verify by phone” option when you start the verification process,

  • If you are not already signed in to Google My Business, sign in now and choose the business you want to check. (If you are already logged in, you will be in the verification step).
  • Make sure your phone number is correct, then choose Phone Verification.
  • Enter the verification code from the text message you received.


Verify by email

Google allows some companies to verify their site via email. If this is allowed for your activity, you will see the “Verify by email” option when you start the verification process, and here are the steps to complete the process in detail:


  • If you are not already signed in to Google My Business, sign in now, and choose the business you want to check. (If you are already logged in, you will be in the verification step).
  • Make sure your email address is correct, then choose “Verify by email.”
  • Go to your inbox, open the email from Google My Business, and click the verify button in the email.
